Identification: 16-24 in; Long, slender bright green back with bright yellow to cream belly; scales keeled. 

Habit: Rough green snakes conceal themselves in the vines and shrubs next to marshes and forests, where they forage, resembling vines themselves. They eat small grasshoppers, spiders and catepillars.

Distribution: throughout Louisiana.
